Jen Savage has been happily addicted to music since childhood. She'd pretend to be sleeping, but really tuning into the radio stations that played bands outside the Top 40 world. In a land of cultural deprivation, radio saved her life.
She's tried to return the favor over the years. When not holding down weekend afternoons on KSLG, Jen fights the good fight for the oceans, beaches and waves of the North Coast, serving as Humboldt Surfrider's chairperson and Ocean Conservancy's North Coast Program Coordinator. And when not doing that, she writes a couple columns about money and art for the North Coast Journal. She left the desert behind decades ago -- and couldn't be happier.
