Missouri Tea Partier inspired (badly) by the Dandy Warhols?

In the biggest musical showdown since Joe Satriani accused Coldplay of ripping off his "If I Could Fly for You" (you remember it... not) to write "Viva La Vida" (because that is the only way Coldplay could get a hit!), the Dandy Warhols are suggesting, via their Twitter feed, of course, that Thomas Schweich, the GOP candidate for state auditor in Missouri, may have been inspired to create his Tea Party-inspired rock song (yes, you read that right), "Gimme Back My Freedom," because it sounds a lot like the Dandys' "Bohemian Like You."

Crazy? Maybe like a fox! You decide, Slug fans:

Tickets are available online which include a pre-signed copy of "Tell All." Stay updated here.

Adam Gontier's Mic Stand

According to Wired.com, Three Days Grace sing Adam Gontier has commissioned the coolest microphone stand ever.  Artist Chris Conte fabricated it to the singer's specs, right down to making it left-handed.

From Wired:

"Conte made three of the mike stands (Gontier bought a backup for the road). The mike stands are constructed primarily of stainless steel. One part of the quick-release mechanism is made of brass.

"The arm you see in the photos is actually a casting in stainless steel of the master using the lost-wax process,” Conte said. “Eleven separate silicone molds were taken from the master to create the wax models needed for the casting process.” The project took about three months, and Gontier used the stand onstage for the first time Feb. 19 at the Prudential Center in New Jersey."
